Singapore Hotel Sustainability Award
The Singapore Hotel Sustainability Award, presented by the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA), is supported by the Building & Construction Authority (BCA), National Environment Agency (NEA), PUB – Singapore’s National Water Agency, and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
This award recognizes hotels that champion sustainable practices and initiatives in key areas such as:
- Effective sustainable management
- Energy efficiency
- Water efficiency
- Waste management
- Indoor air quality
The award criteria are based on requirements developed by the internationally recognized Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Certification and align with Singapore’s first Hotel Sustainability Roadmap, jointly developed by SHA and STB.
Recognised Sustainability Impact
In partnership with GUAVA International, we are proud to be part of a globally recognised sustainability initiative featured in the United Nations Global Compact global case study, Scaling Sustainable Impact in Hospitality: The GUAVA Model. Through our participation in the Carbon Emissions Reduction Certificate (CERC) programme, we have achieved 488kg of reductions in carbon emissions through our amenities programme, demonstrating that thoughtful operational choices can deliver both environmental impact and enhanced guest experience.

Singapore MICE Sustainability
We are proud to announce that One Farrer Hotel has obtained the Singapore MICE Sustainability - Bronze Certification (MSC) that is awarded by SACEOS Singapore. Recognised by Global Sustainable Tourism Council® (GSTC®), the certification aims to equip businesses with sustainable practices for events while raising sustainability standards across Singapore’s Meetings, Incentives ,Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry.
MSC covers key sustainability areas such as carbon, waste, energy, and water management, as well as social responsibility, human resource competency, and sustainable procurement.

We are proud to announce that One Farrer Hotel is GSTC-Certified by Control Union that is GSTC-Accredited.
The Global Sustainable Tourism Council® (GSTC®) is the leading global authority in setting and managing standards for sustainable travel & tourism.
The GSTC manages the GSTC Criteria, the global standards for sustainable travel and tourism; as well as acts as an international body providing assurance for sustainable tourism certification in three key subsectors of tourism: hotels/accommodations, tour operators/agencies and destinations.
